DedCool is the only Functional Fragrance brand that empowers all people to smell and feel good through scent. We're on a mission to reshape the way fragrance is defined and experienced. We think everyone should have a signature scent that extends beyond a glass bottle. DedCool intermingles fragrance across mediums into otherwise mundane products from laundry detergent to car fresheners, so that scent is practically applied in your everyday life. The rigid gender roles of today’s fragrance industry have been begging to modernize for decades. DedCool offers a solution – We seek to inspire individuality through scent by allowing individuals to customize, and build their own scent wardrobe. Our collection was designed to be layered in combinations and emphasizes the power of personalization.

DedCool was founded with generations of beauty expertise behind it. Fragrance was Carina’s passion from the very beginning. Growing up alongside her mother as a beauty formulator, with a lab as her playground, it was natural for Carina to create DedCool. Her love of scent and a general rejection of the way the Fragrance industry operates, lit a fire under Carina to create a modern 21st Century definition of what Fragrance means. It started humbly on Instagram, and then grew to knocking on the doors of local retail shops with the hope of being carried on consignment. This resulted in relationships with stores, and boutiques to then cultivating dedcool.com.

formulation

All of our product formulations are created with vegan and cruelty-free ingredients. They’re also all biodegradable, with byproducts breaking down naturally into the environment they’re released into. All of our fragrances have a higher concentration of plant extracts which ultimately last longer on the skin.

Our fragrance formulation is also highly functional, containing a proprietary organic blend of 21 plant extracts

carbon neutral

Our manufacturing and warehousing facilities are certified carbon neutral through Terrapass carbon offsets. Terrapass offsets environmental and ecological impact by funding projects like reforestation, wind-powered farms, and landfill gas capture to remove carbon from the environment.

1% for the planet

One percent of all our sales are donated to 1% For The Planet. This initiative helps to fund environmental nonprofits that are dedicated to creating a healthier planet, and is another way that we reinforce our commitment to sustainability.

packaging

In general, the packaging world isn’t up to our standard and we are constantly working to find new and more sustainable packaging solutions that align with our vision for less waste.

Wherever possible, we use product packaging that is recyclable and reusable. One of our favorite materials to use is aluminum, because it is durable through reuse and can be easily recycled at the end of its life. We also use biodegradable printed ink on packaging to ensure that all materials can be recycled. We encourage refilling product packaging, and plan to release more bulk products in the future in order to continue cutting waste.

We've partnered with Pact Collective, a non-profit program that helps recycle those hard-to-recycle items (like all your DedCool empties).

Our shipping materials also include FSC certified, recyclable packaging.
